Municipal Court

Municipal Court is the judicial branch of City Government. Traffic violations and violations of City Ordinances are tried in Municipal Court, and upon conviction carry a maximum fine of $2500 and a possible jail term.

Trials are conducted under the Code of Ordinances, Code for Municipal Courts and the Kansas Rules of Evidence as adopted by the Kansas Legislature.

 

Municipal court is held on the third Wednesday of every month at 6:30 p.m. at Citizen's Potawatomi Community Center located at 806 Nishnabe Trail.

Kansas State law prohibits any judge to speak to defendants outside of the court room, therefore all correspondence will be directed to the Court Clerk.
